One limit worth reading twice: the policy works across Ukraine, but not in areas of active fighting, not in temporarily occupied territory, not within 50 km of either, and not where a special access regime applies.

Before you cross
What border control checks when you arrive. It applies to foreign nationals, including stateless people and holders of a Ukrainian residence permit.
It has to stay valid for the whole time you are in the country.

Citizens of either country may enter on a national ID card instead of a passport. The rule has been in place since March 2019.
If your Ukrainian residence permit expired after 24 February 2022, it still gets you in.
This is a summary of the rules for foreign nationals, not the regulation itself. Border control decides each case, and the rules can change — check before you travel.

Civil defence sends the alert to your phone the moment the siren goes. It works anywhere in the country.
Look up the ones near your hotel and along the routes you will actually use, and save the map offline.
Most alerts end with nothing. Go anyway — the one that does not is the reason.
Curfew hours, entry rules and the situation all change. Local official channels are the ones that matter, not what you read a month ago.
It is the one thing on this list you can settle in two minutes, and it is what this page sells.
This policy cannot be issued to travellers aged 70 or over — the insurer does not offer cover for that age.

A licensed Ukrainian insurer, entered in the National Bank of Ukraine register of financial institutions. Its registration details are below.
The insurer signs every contract with a qualified electronic signature. The PDF in your inbox is the legal document itself, not a receipt for one.
