Every year, a mass pilgrimage of Bratslav Hasidim takes place in Uman.
On September 15th, 32,332 Hasidic pilgrims arrived in the city of Uman. During the day, 10,088 pilgrims crossed the state border at the checkpoints.
This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
As noted by the police, to thoroughly check and register the pilgrims in Uman, law enforcement officers have set up control points. There is round-the-clock duty at 7 posts in places of mass gathering of pilgrims.
It was previously reported that over 20,000 Hasidic pilgrims from around the world had already gathered in Uman. From September 15th to 17th, they will celebrate the Jewish New Year - Rosh Hashanah. The grave of the spiritual leader of the Hasidim is located in Uman, and they believe that celebrating the new year there will bring happiness.
