Electronic queues for cars and buses crossing the border are being introduced in Ukraine

Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal announced that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has expanded the scope of the "e-Border" project from the electronic queue at border crossing points to include passenger cars and buses engaged in passenger transportation.

"We are building a new logistics system and have already launched the electronic queue for freight transport. Today, we are approving a resolution that extends the use of the electronic queue to include passenger cars and buses performing passenger transport. This will reduce queues at the border and make the crossing more comfortable. The pilot project for bus crossings will begin in August," he said.

The "e-Border" project allows individuals to pre-register in the queue and arrive at the customs checkpoint at the designated time. It enables a swift border clearance process, preventing vehicles from waiting for several days.

The "e-Border" project for border crossings was launched in December 2022. In May 2023, it was extended to a total of 16 border crossing points on the western border. Initially, the project was intended solely for registering trucks.

Border guards recently urged citizens, whenever possible, to choose alternative countries for crossing the Ukrainian border, avoiding unnecessary queues, especially at the crossing points with Poland, where the situation with congestion is very challenging.
